Dee Washington is a native Houstonian who has used her vocal range and unique melodic voice to bring joy and happiness to the lives of others in the Houston and surrounding area, as well as around the United States. Being a lover of all music genres, Dee’s passion and calling is Gospel. Her affinity for the Word of God stems from her roots as a loyal member of Pentecostal Missionary Baptist Church for fifty-six years and has served as Minister of Music for eighteen years.
Inspired and influenced by Gospel greats such as Yolanda Adams and Angela Bennett, Dee has had the honor and privilege to sing with them both as a member of the legendary Southeast Inspirational Choir. Dee’s musical journey has also afforded her the opportunity to sing in the renowned Houston Mass Chapter of Gospel Music Workshop of America.
Dee’s talent goes beyond her melodious vocals and has resulted in her being selected to serve as the current Music Director of the South Texas District Association. In July 2018, Dee was one of the finalists in the highly competitive “I Can Sang” Gospel Vocalist Talent Search. After singing on stage before a panel of judges and a live audience, Dee was the first-place winner catapulting her singing career to new heights. As part of the “I Can Sang” winner’s package, she performed in New York, and opened for Jimmy Spivey’s Gigantic Gospel Concert. Dee also recorded her first single, “Be Grateful”, produced by Quincy Whetstone AKA Q-Stone and had her debut performance in Las Vegas on March 29, 2019 (Stellar Award Weekend).
